McAvoy were awarded a contract to deliver a modular Endoscopy suite to facilitate additional capacity for endoscopy procedures for Remedy Healthcare Solutions and North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust. The use of offsite construction reduced the programme time and radically minimised disruption to patient care during the on-site construction period.
To maximise work offsite, 5 modules were delivered to site with internal partitioning pre-installed to have the building ready in time for patients’ arrival.
Despite working in a space adjacent to busy areas of the hospital, McAvoy installed the new Endoscopy Suite with minimum disruption to day-to-day running of the hospital. The safety of patient and staff was at the forefront of all on-site construction.
The building was successfully handed over to the Trust, on time and on budget.
The building contains a reception & waiting area, staff changing rooms, 3 x accessible WC, kitchen, recovery pod, procedure rooms, admitting & prep, cleaning room and a decontamination room.
