Safety, Health
and Wellbeing

As a responsible employer, we take our duty of care to our people seriously. We believe that a safe, healthy and supportive working environment is essential to empowering our staff.

Our approach goes beyond compliance, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, shared responsibility and proactive wellbeing.

We recognise that a healthy workforce is a happy and engaged one. With morale a key priority, we deliver a range of employee initiatives throughout the year that support, inspire and promote health and wellbeing across the business.

Safety

We uphold robust health and safety standards across our factory floor, offices and construction sites, in line with all relevant government regulations in the UK and Ireland.

Working tirelessly to ensure zero accidents in the workplace, we adhere to stringent measures to protect our staff’s physical safety. Risk assessment, audits, robust induction programme and toolbox talks on the shop floor all form part of our ongoing health and safety measures.

Our commitment is reinforced through recognised accreditations, including CHAS, SafePass, Safe-T-Cert, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. These standards reflect our ongoing focus on best practice, risk reduction and continuous improvement in health and safety.

Health

We support the health of our employees through regular health surveillance checks, while also recognising that wellbeing extends far beyond physical health alone.

All McAvoy employees have access to Bupa Healthcare, providing professional medical support and reassurance when it matters most. In addition, our partnerships with organisations such as the Lighthouse Charity ensure confidential support is available to employees dealing with emotional or financial challenges.

Wellbeing

We are committed to launching initiatives throughout the year which have a positive impact on the wellbeing of our staff and the communities we work in. Whether it is a company-wide walking challenges, charity mountain climb or food bank donation, we select initiatives that people care about the most.

McAvoy’s employee assistance programme offers a range of support in the form of face-to-face counselling sessions, virtual GP services and an industry leading health scheme available to all employees at every level from day one. All staff have access to an online wellbeing and fitness platform to help improve physical and mental wellbeing.
